Building Through Uncertainty
The other week, my coworkers and I were discussing a feature we shipped last year. We were getting some customer feedback, who now wanted something we didn’t build.
The reaction from my coworker was “I’m not sure why we didn’t build that, it’s so easy”. In my experience, this criticism is super common, both when looking at the product and at code. But I think it’s a form of hindsight bias: we forget how hard things were in the past.
Here’s an essay that tries to help us remember.
